This is probably a regression between 2.21.4 (good) and 2.21.5 (bad). After watching any YouTube video and allowing playback to finish, seek back to any point earlier in the video. The video will be rendered as a gray circle on a white background.

It easy to reproduce by seeking to right before the end of the video, allowing it to finish, and then seeking back.
