Excellent! So this was indeed the issue.

Correct, WebKit's Web Inspector first started getting a list of all fonts some time in Sierra, so that would be the reason this started happening then.

Chrome Dev Tools do not auto complete system font names anywhere, so I don't think they do anything equivalent to what WebKit is doing.
