Testing with the latest 11.2 beta on iPhone 6; with Google Chrome on the other side. The situation has definitely improved; the system no longer freezes up. However I am getting issues where the webpage will freeze up, and JS code will stop running. The page will stop transmitting data to the other client, and video will freeze on the current page even though you can still scroll the page. I get this 1/3 of the time and it usually happens a few seconds into the call. 
Seems like this is very similar to what Jay Charles has reported. Let me know if you can reproduce on your end.
