Also according to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Body/text the response.text is not in safari. But we read the json of it here https://github.com/GerritCodeReview/gerrit/blob/af3ec9a6df468fd049ea271db29ede0ccc8f8a3d/polygerrit-ui/app/elements/shared/gr-rest-api-interface/gr-rest-api-interface.js#L169

So that could also be the reason too.
