Screencast showing shadows

See the attached screencast of the issue. There's a potentially related issue with CSS animations not rendering correctly in https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169001
This thick shadow is not present in Chrome and Firefox, and just looks wrong.
