If the image of a poster can't be found the video will take a square dimension. 

Right click > Show Controls will place it back to it's true dimensions.

Tested on
El Capitan 10.11.6 - Safari 9.1.2 (11601.7.7)
Sierra 10.12.5 - Safari 10.1.1 (12603.2.4)
