On a MacBook Pro "Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015" (== 2.5 years old), Safari's dev tools show a framerate timeline way below 60 FPS, please see the attached screenshot "screenshot_safari_fps.png".

I hope you can ensure 100% smooth animation.
