            Bug ID: 159887
           Summary: [encoding] Support for ISO-2022-JP
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: WebKit
           Version: WebKit Nightly Build
          Hardware: Unspecified
                OS: Unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Text
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
          Reporter: addison at amazon.com
                CC: mmaxfield at apple.com

The W3C I18N WG in cooperation with WhatWG has created tests for the Encoding specification. In testing the encoding:

   ISO-2022-JP

Our tests found 47126 total errors. In addition 2 of the 8 decoder tests for this encoding failed. Note that the <form> encode tests produced a very high error rate for this encoding. There may be something fundamentally wrong with either our test's execution on Safari or this encoder (other browsers do much better).

Please see:

https://github.com/whatwg/encoding/issues/60

Please comment on the above github issue in addition to addressing this bug here. If there are errors in our tests or in the specification, we would very much like to know!
