Bug ID: 160411
Summary: 48khz Sample Rate mp3s fail to play into BufferSource
Classification: Unclassified
Product: WebKit
Version: Safari 9
Hardware: Macintosh
OS: OS X 10.11
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: Web Audio
Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
Reporter: jonobrandel at gmail.com
I had originally posted my findings here ( https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117579#c8 ), but upon further inspection the Web Audio API methods seemed fine. However, it seems like in Safari 9 the Web Audio API is unable to play back 48khz sample rate mp3s. Consider these two examples:
A 44.1khz sample rate mp3 plays back fine in Safari: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1595444/issues/safari/buffer-source/441.html
However, it's 48khz counterpart cuts out after the audio, "Hello good sir," is heard: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1595444/issues/safari/buffer-source/48k.html
