Please reopen if you can reproduce with 2.8 or 2.10. Note that it is not safe to use old versions of WebKit as they contain security issues. Since you're already using the WebKit2 API, it should be very easy for you to upgrade to the latest release as there are very few API changes; the one thing to watch out for is that the pkg-config API name is bumped to webkit2gtk-4.0.

Also, since this sounds like a fairly straightforward API issue, it would help to attach a quick example program that triggers the bug.
