No problem.  I do think we should make the names clearer so others aren't similarly confused.  Do you have any ideas?  Maybe we should rename the main dictionary.tryGetProperty() to something like dictionary.getPropertyIfExists()? Maybe we should make it return the GetPropertyResult enum and make callers check it explicitly? Thoughts?
