1. Create file with any content, e. g. "c:\index.html"
2. Create symlink, e. g. "mklink c:\link.html c:\index.html"
3. Open link through URL "file:///C:/link.html"

Tested on Windows 7 in node-webkit and Google Chrome browser. Everything works fine on Linux.
