html5 audio default controls are unusable.  See for example, http://thesaurus.com/ with Webkit and with Chrome.  When you put <audio …  with the default player, Webkit displays a so huge and unusable set of buttons that makes it overlap and get messed with the rest of the contents. It works great with Chrome and Firefox, for example.
