Ok, but this is then a Qt issue, QtWebKit behaves properly. Other browsers (Chrome at least) don't timeout on read either.

Depending on the issue you are trying to address, you can also try to solve it at a lower layer using mechanisms like watchdog timers or TCP keepalives ( http://tldp.org/HOWTO/TCP-Keepalive-HOWTO/overview.html )

I'm resolving this issue as won't fix, please re-open if you still think there is a bug related to this in WebKit.
