When run in a VNC session, WebKit-using browsers display large black borders around form input elements

Steps to Reproduce:

    Create VNC session using tightvncserver
    Start either "midori about:widgets" or "uzbl-browser https://bugs.webkit.org".
View the results using a VNC client.

Actual Results:

Large black borders are displayed around form input elements

Expected Results:

Form elements should appear as per a 'normal' X server

Additional Builds and Platforms:

Also seen on Raspberry Pi running Raspbian (debian wheezy built for ARMv6 hard-float)

Additional Information:

Possibly the same issue as bug 90350 ?
