I don't see how removing that line from the spec makes it any more reasonable to clip floats. The previous line ("Content in the normal flow... is clipped") still implies to me that clipping applies specifically to content in the normal flow, and floats are surely not in the normal flow?

I can understand not supporting intrusion, but I would have expected the content to be visible still (i.e. overflowing the adjacent column). Something closer to Firefox's behaviour.
