I agree with you completely.  I posted this 'bug' because I had already followed the directions provided by webkit.org.  Even after entering "defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitWebGLEnabled -bool YES" from the CLI and reloading WebKit I still see the error.  This occurred on two different Macs both running Mountain Lion.
