There are several layers of the events one can turn on/off (loading/scripting/rendering/painting). It would be great if the same visualizer could be used to render application semantics events.
For example I can imagine the following:

stamp1 = console.timeStamp("Data store access begin", 'store');
stamp2 = console.timeStamp("Data store access end", 'store', stamp2);

Note the second parameter defining the what I call layer. In this case there would be another one created next to the four already built-in.
The code above would create a timeline entry which would start at the time of the first timeStamp() call and be rendered as in progress till the last timeStamp() call which refers to the stamp1 for duration calculation.
