Calibre screenshot

We experience severe problems with soft hyphens when viewing our books in Calibre (ebook viewer), which uses Qt, which uses WebKit. See the screenshot attached.

- Many soft-hyphens appear visibly as vertical lines.

- The text should be justified, but it is not. It is spaced strangely, as if it would be justified. However, the right edge is jagged.

- We use JavaScript to display the translation when you click on a sentence. From time to time, the viewer just crashes after the click.

The Calibre developer says: [What] is likely to be causing this is the update to Qt version 4.8 which includes an updated WebKit build. I see the artifacts you report in XP, but not in linux or Win7 (on win7 the soft hyphens are invisible, but that is a long standing bug in Qt WebKit).

Only Windows XP is affected. I have verified OS X is fine. The bugs were probably introduced recently, earlier Calibre/Qt versions were not affected.
