Based on the statistics, I propose increasing the scanning range to 3072 bytes. I'll make a patch and upload it here. 

As for what's proposed in comment #17 (switching to a simple scanning regardless of whether there's a 'content' tag such as body, p, div), I'll file a new bug if not filed yet.
