This seems to happen on sites that use XHR for the form submission. Other sites I have noticed this behavior on are reddit.com and name.com. I believe Mozilla, Microsoft use a strategy of prompting for the password to be saved before the submit event fires. I really hope this gets picked up by someone. It's super annoying.
