Anyway, the rational is that these command line flags are meant to make it convenient to run the VM with difference heuristic values for testing and tuning.  Adding the "--dumpOptions" flag will allow us to keep the options dump together with the test output dump from the same run for easier tracking.

Ah, that does sound useful.
