Here's a thought: If it is totally impossible to simply follow the utterly clear and unambiguous html standards after 7 years of debate, how about producing a plugin poor fools like me can use to automatically replace images with the alt text on web sites we have absolutely no control over which are missing all their images and where the only way they are usable is if we can see the dadgum alt text.
