That may be because I attempted a patch that appears to have worked. Applying the CSS attribute "display: inline-block;" to the links containing the images fixes the problem for webkit, though additional issues show up in Firefox so it's not a cross-browser fix, but that added CSS will fix webkit's rendering of such elements.
