While this is a cosmetic bug, the case can be made for its importance. As more web sites are getting viewed on devices of different screen sizes and resolutions, the ability to have resolution-independent graphics is increasingly important.

Also, the fact that SVG is a vector format *encourages* people to play around with the zoom settings, if only to see how nice the objects look (no jaggies or blurring!) at different zoom levels. But more practically in finding an appropriate zoom level for the device they are on and their own viewing needs. (e.g. I crank up the zoom on all pages when viewing via the computer attached to my TV).
