Clearing font-caches (and restarting the machine for good measure) didn't help.
Testing on a second machine running 10.6.6 fails with Safari 5.
Camino (Gecko 1.9.2), a recent Minefield nightly (Gecko 2.0b) and Opera 11 all display the test page correctly.
