Summary: Geocaching.com Map View Hangs with Webkit-based
Browsers
Product: WebKit
Version: 528+ (Nightly build)
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: JavaScriptCore
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
ReportedBy: vext01 at gmail.com
Hi,
I am reporting this bug with great uncertainty, so please bear with me. I do not know webkit well and this might not be webkit's fault.
To reproduce:
* Go to geocaching.com and log in.
* Do a search for caches (by address or postcode, whatever).
* Click "Search for geocaches with Google Maps"
A map is displayed with caches marked. You should be able to drag the map, a "requesting caches" message should appear before the caches are updated after a small 2 second or so delay. This is the behavior of firefox-3.5 and firefox-3.6. If you repeat this step a few times under midori or surf (or any other webkit based browser?), eventually, the caches fail to load and the "requesting caches" dialog just sits there spinning. I can reproduce this every time.
Initially I noticed this on OpenBSD-current/webkit-1.2.3 with midori and surf; Later I asked my friend to try who is running the latest ubuntu/libwebkit-1.0-2 and midori under linux, and he gets the same.
Sorry, I don't have time to test svn webkit.
Is this a bug in webkit? Perhaps it is the fault of geocaching.com? Can someone try with opera perhaps?
Cheers
