webkit in a pane after resizing

I'm working on the gramps project : http://www.gramps-project.org/
The user can choose between gecko and webkit.
In trunk developpers are modifying the UI and implements a gtkpaned.
I have solved the problem with gecko, but I can't with webkit.
I just use googlemaps or openstreetmap in a div.

The problem.
Depending of the pane size, I'd like to resize the map.
The google api works correctly, but the html size can't be resize.

It seems webkit takes the screen size.

Is it possible to do that ?
Why not as gecko is able to do that ?
