Summary: WebKit makes a poor font choice for arrow glyphs in
css2.1 tests
Product: WebKit
Version: 528+ (Nightly build)
Platform: Macintosh
OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.5
Status: NEW
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: Text
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
ReportedBy: aestes at apple.com
CC: hyatt at apple.com, mitz at webkit.org, aestes at apple.com
For example, compare css2.1/t0905-c414-flt-02-c.html between Firefox and Safari. For ⇨. Safari picks Hiragino Mincho ProN W3 to render this glyph whereas Firefox picks Apple Symbols. Since these tests are using arrow glyphs for expository purposes, the a symbols font seems to make more sense than a Japanese font.
