I cannot reproduce this. Here is what I tried:
1. Create a new message in Yahoo! Mail.
2. Click Attach.
3. When prompted to install some kind of tool for easier downloads, disagree.
4. Click Attach again.
5. Choose a .jpg file, upload it.

If the problem you're seeing happens with this "easier attach" tool installed,
it's almost certainly a bug in this tool.
