This sounds like a Qt bug on embedded. data:text/html,<input type=password>
work fine on Mac OS X. Please check a normal Qt line-edit on embedded and
verify that you can get dots there, if not report at bugreports.qt.nokia.com,
otherwise re-open this one if it's still valid in trunk with Qt 4.7
