Summary: Search input box can't be styled without
-webkit-appearance
Product: WebKit
Version: 528+ (Nightly build)
Platform: Macintosh
OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.6
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: CSS
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
ReportedBy: s+webkit at sidneysm.com

Demonstration of search input
Many input elements relinquish their built-in style when a border or background
is specified through CSS. Search inputs are an exception: they retain their
default styling unless -webkit-appearance: textfield is explicitly set.
