Leopard isn’t particularly interesting.  GIF decoding was substantially improved in SnowLeopard.  The image at <http://static2.aintitcool.com/files/HoD2.gif> loads and plays with very minimal CPU usage on SnowLeopard.  Given that the original reported issue was addressed, I’m going to close this bug out.

People should file new bug reports about specific images that use excessive CPU on SnowLeopard or Windows.
