HIThemeDrawTrack isn't Appearance Manager, it's HITheme. When Carbon was killed for 64-bits, people at WWDC asked explicitly about HITheme and using it to draw appearance primitives, and Apple said that it would stick around. For now, I'm not worried about its future.
