Summary: LinkedIn re-directs to an ad
Product: WebKit
Version: 528+ (Nightly build)
Platform: PC
URL: http://linkedin.com
OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.5
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: Layout and Rendering
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
ReportedBy: morten.larsen at ludit.it
This one seems to depend on certain ads on LinkedIn's pages, mostly internal
ones.
As ads rotate, and may be targeted differently to different users, I would
imagine that it is not always reproducible to every username.
Steps to reproduce (with the above disclaimer):
0 - Log in to LinkedIn. This will of course require a registration.
1 - The personal home page with updates from your network usually shows
without problems.
2 - Click on a link to a user's profile page, for instance <user
this-and-that> is now connected to <some other user>.
What happens:
a. The user's profile page starts loading, and shows (briefly) in the browser.
b. The page turns blank.
c. An ad (or sometimes, two ads) shows in the window.
d. The original URL in the address field in the toolbar does not change.
e. The page source contains what seems to the be the "real" page.
