In Mail, find a webkit-changes email.  For example:

[webkit-changes] [45062] trunk/WebKitTools

Reply to it. 
Place the caret at the end of a paragraph.  After the ChangeLog line "Reviewed
by Dave Levin" for example.
Press return.
Shift click just after "On Jun 24, 2009, at 3:26 PM, eric at webkit.org wrote:" to
create a selection.
Press delete.

The patch loses formatting.
