Summary: Webkit Support for Novell iManager's Identity Manager
Overview Page
Product: WebKit
Version: 528+ (Nightly build)
Platform: Macintosh
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: Layout and Rendering
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
ReportedBy: jlodom00 at alumni.amherst.edu
This is a duplicate to bug 6661874 in Apple's Radar tracking system. Not sure
where it should properly be filed.
Novell Identity Manager (IDM) is often administered via the Novell iManager web
interface. One of the most useful pages for dealing with IDM is the "Overview"
page which provides a diagram showing how various systems are connected and
allowing the administrator to change the properties of each connected IDM
driver.
In Firefox 2 on any version of OS X, the diagram is rendered correctly. On
Safari 3.x and 4 beta (including nightly builds of Webkit), the diagram renders
incorrectly.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. View the Novell iManager Identity Manager Overview page using Safari (a web
archive of the page and screenshots of Safari and Firefox renderings are
included with this bug report, since my IDM installation is both sensitive and
behind my firewall.)
Expected Results:
A diagram similar to the one included in the Firefox-rendered screenshot.
Actual Results:
A diagram similar to the one included in the Safari-rendered screenshot.
Regression:
No version of Safari seems to render the diagram correctly. Firefox 2/3 on OS
X, Windows, and Linux and Internet Explorer 6/7 on Windows XP do render the
diagram correctly.
Notes:
Hopefully this is a simple case of having Safari handling the rendering
behavior correctly, as Firefox and IE do. If you need additional resources
beyond the web archive and the two screenshots that I have included, please let
me know.
