Summary: Search for first component of host name contained in
links does not work
Product: WebKit
Version: 525.x (Safari 3.2)
Platform: Macintosh
OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.5
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: New Bugs
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
ReportedBy: rex_4539 at yahoo.com
Steps:
1. Launch Skype.
2. Sent to a contact via chat the following link:
https://wiki.skype.net/
3. Now send the word:
wiki
4. Now send the word:
skype
5. In chat window, do a search for string "wiki".
6. In chat window, do a search for string "skype".
What happened:
5. Only second "wiki" is found while the first one is ignored.
6. Both "skype" are found.
Expected result:
Word "wiki" contained in link should also be found.
Comments:
As you may know, Skype uses WebKit to render chats. I filed this bug to Skype
and comment from the developer was: "Seems to be a feature/bug of WebKit. If
you open the same stuff in Safari 3 (eg with /mac browser chat command), then
first wiki is not found either. Probably non-fixable in Mac Skype UI".
