Summary: WebKit Qt does not always honor "Compose" key
Product: WebKit
Version: 528+ (Nightly build)
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: WebKit Qt
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
ReportedBy: kuaera at gmail.com
[Using WebKit Qt from qt-snapshot from git]
I have the Compose key mapped to RAlt to insert special characters; however,
with builds from qt-snapshot, the key appears to be ignored in some input
areas. For instance, the sequence "RAlt + a => e" produces "ae" instead of "æ".
Sites which are "web 2.0" and have some mappings to shortcuts, such as
meebo.com and Google Mail, seem to be affected; I cannot input special
characters via the compose key in Meebo chats, nor when creating mails in
Google Mail.
This issue appeared intermittent with a previous WebKit Qt version [I am
uncertain of the version included with Qt 4.4.3], but changing to a different
tab and back in the browser temporarily fixed the issue. This no longer works.
