 i'm manually maintaining 15 separate patches to deal with this functionality,
and that's about to go up to about 25 very shortly.

 in order to stop the patches conflicting, i'm interspersing the ChangeLog
entries at different points, so that the [currently] 15 entries don't munge
into one big globular commit.

 can you simply move the entry to the top?

 do you have a script which does that, already, surely?
