The linked-to testcase may not be reachable but the attached testcase is still
valid.  It works in Opera and in Safari 4:

- click in the left square and it will animate from white to black
- as soon as the left square finishes, the right square will animate from white
to black

Based on the test case working, I would think this bug is now fixed.
