I am referred to this bug 13490 in connection with 
http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/7446 and 
http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/8085 

In the context of Kupu, I have a sense that 
<span class="Apple-style-span"> is most problematic. 

Please, how can we progress here?
