I Steps:
 Go to attached reduced testcase : hi-contrast.html 

 II Issue:
 When using light text on dark backgrounds it is nearly impossible to tell what
text is currently selected.
 For a real world example, try using the gmail "High contrast" theme.

 Firefox and Internet explorer do not have this problem.
 Safari 3.1 suffers the same problem (but to a lesser degree because of its
selection color).
