The check-for-global-initializers and check-for-exit-time-destructors scripts
have a lot of duplicated code, and very similar structures. It would be nice to
share more of this code rather than duplicating it. Doing so would make it
easier to make the changes needed to adopt these scripts on Windows (bug 22314
and bug 22315).
