Summary: start time degrades as history grows
           Product: WebKit
           Version: 525.x (Safari 3.1)
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Major
          Priority: P2
         Component: Page Loading
        AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
        ReportedBy: antonmos at hotmail.com

After I used safari for a while, i noticed that there is a long delay (5+
seconds) after the first Safari window opens and before the home page loads.
At this time if I click on the windows, it becomes 'hung'.
After some experimentation, I found that if i clear the history (Edit-> Reset
Safari -> C;ear History only), the startup delay goes away until the history
builds up again.

I am on WinXp sp3 on Intel Core Duo 2ghz with 3GB of RAM.

Needless to say this is a pretty nasty usability issue.
