Summary: Margin auto: difference between centered divs and images
                    in body background
           Product: WebKit
           Version: 526+ (Nightly build)
          Platform: Macintosh
               URL: http://www.xs4all.nl/~jjj/webkit_margin_auto
        OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.5
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: CSS
        AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
        ReportedBy: jjj at xs4all.nl

Please follow the link, this makes it clear immediately.
We have a horizontally centered div and a centered image in the body
background. When scaling the window smaller than the background image width, a
1px gap becomes visible. Apparently when the image is larger than the window,
it's not perfectly centered? This works perfectly in Firefox.
