------- Comment #3 from webkit at blaut.biz 2008-03-13 12:56 PDT -------
The button behavior is based on default browser settings. No specification
describes how specific user agent should render such cases. Webkit differs from
Gecko, but is very similar to Presto (Opera) rendering.

IMO the Webkit rendering is far better than Gecko if you consider this example:
http://software.hixie.ch/utilities/js/live-dom-viewer/?%3C!DOCTYPE%20html%3E%0A%3Cinput%20value%3D%22Button%22%20style%3D%22background%3A%20white%3B%22%20type%3D%22button%22%3E%0A%0A

White button on white background. In this case on Gecko you are unable to see
top and left border.

I resolve this issue as WONTFIX.

BTW. I appreciate your feedback regarding Webkit rendering, but you should
remember to strictly follow reporting guidelines:
http://webkit.org/quality/reporting.html According to this guidelines you
should test your issues in the latest Webkit nightly! Your Webkit nightly is
almost a month old! For such dynamic project as Webkit your version is ancient.

I also strongly advise to test your issues in Firefox 3. Firefox 2 has many
bugs already fixed in Firefox 3. In most cases Firefox 3 rendering follows
Webkit rendering and vice versa. So to avoid confusion please test web pages in
this version of Firefox.
