You say "lists" but you don't mention in your steps to reproduce where you are
creating lists.

I can't reproduce this.  Are you copying just "-test" or "-test\n"?  If I copy
"-test" plus the line break and then paste it on the second line I get strange
behavior, but not what you describe.  When I:

Create a new document
Type "foo"
Press return
Select All
Copy
Paste on the second line

Everything disappears, including the caret.  Can't reproduce in other editors.
