This bug was fixed some time ago. (In reply to comment #4)

Ben, could you file a separate bug report regarding crashes on Mac OS X
plaform? Please remember to  attach crash log

The bug regarding not working signed applets in Safari for Windows was fixed
some time ago in Safari 3.1 so I close the bug as fixed.
