Summary: right click along the edges of an <input> field does not
enable the "Paste" from the context menu
Product: WebKit
Version: 526+ (Nightly build)
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.google.com
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: New Bugs
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
ReportedBy: anderson.calvin1 at gmail.com
I. Steps:
-----------
1. Copy some plain text to the clipboard
2. Launch Safari.
3. go to www.google.com
II. Issue:
-----------------
If the focus is on the search box of the Google homepage then click on an
empty space on the Google homepage.
Now, right-click the search box and notice that Paste is disabled in the
context menu.
Set focus to the search box, however, and notice that now you can right-click
and select Paste.
Also: Set focus to another textfield than the one you want to paste in, such
as the LocationBar and now right-clicking on the search box will do the right
thing (show Paste and allow you to paste into it). However, it doesn't set
focus to the textfield I right-clicked on until after the paste operation
completes.
FF and IE both set the caret to the search box when you right-click and allow
you to paste.
III. Other browsers:
-----------------------
IE7 : ok
FF3 : ok
Opera 9.50: ok
IV. Safari nightly tested: version 3.1.1(525.17 )- r34603.
Not working properly on Safari.
